Christmas summary
Driving home from Waterloo
- God it was good to hang out with Jamie again ... I missed him
Giftee get-together
- interesting to see people are doing now
- got boring fast
- awesome to hear how excited Sam is about what she's studying
Lee Smolin's basket party
- guests were to bring certain things to put in these baskets that went to new immigrant families so they would have everything they need for a holiday dinner
- there were artists, musicains, lawyers, dancers, philosophers, radio/tv directors, and of course, a few scientists
- great conversations with this eclectic group of people
- Lee and his wife, Dina were so gracious hosts without a stitch of it being fake or forced
- discovered I liked "grown-up" parties
- saw Lee scold his dog, Emily
- definite highlight of my holiday
Kris Kringle
- Jon and Laura (my cousin Matthew's girlfriend) fit right in
- John made salmon just for me. So tasty
- my little cousin got the cd "Dance Mix 2006" and I blurted out "Oh I had 'Dance Mix 1996'" ... I am old.
- we looked at Laura's picture's from Africa on a make-shift big screen. I love baobabs
Christmas in London
- I slept ... a lot
- Jon impressed Diane and everyone else by making chocolate chip pancakes on Christmas morning
- my parents got Jon an apron that everyone (from both side of my family) had signed
- my favourite gifts were ballet tickets, the gift from my brother (shirt and UVic clipboard with a letter inside), an mp3 player (that I initially thought was a cell phone and was disappointed because I didn't want to pay the monthly costs), and a TI-84 Plus graphing calculator.
- everyone seemed to be very relaxed
- I really liked having Jon there
- one of the best Christmases ever
Hannukah Dinner
- probably the most relaxed I've been at one of Jon's family dinners
- I got a sari!
Dinner with Jon's Dad and Step-mom
- they had the prettiest ornaments on their tree
- key to surviving dinner with Brian and Rose: drink
- surprisingly, I really got along with Rose. She didn't put on any airs
- more enjoyable than I thought it would be
Night out with the skating girls
- dinner at Johnny Baker's, skating at the old rink, and then out to Piccadilly's ... some things never change
- Diane's "warm" welcome ... again, some things never change
- oh my has the sex talk progressed
- for all that we've all gone our separate ways, there is something special about that group. We've grown up together and there was never the backstabbing and competing that is typical of groups of girls. I really felt like I could just relax and be myself.
- a surprising highlight of the holiday
Triangle movie night
- awww Georgie's in love
- the triangles manage yet another spectacular wrap job ... shemales for Soos!
- smooooothies
- Office Space and of course, the Matrix
- I missed hanging out with the Triangles
New Year's Eve
- back to Waterloo
- Dirty Minds is a fun games (especially when you don't follow the rules)
- jokes, drinks, and good friends ... what a way to start the new year
All in all, Christmas break, hectic though it was, was everything I wanted (or needed) it to be: I got lots of sleep, had fun with my family, had good conversations with my brother, and was reminded that I do in fact, have really good friends.

That was an awesome New Year's party... quite possibly the most fun I've had over New Year's yet. Thanks a bunch for hosting!
